In Memory
A meaningful way to remember a loved one — secure online donations to a chosen good cause, with Gift Aid handled automatically.
Donations are an important way of contributing to a good cause in memory of a loved one. George Scott & Sons has partnered with Memory Giving to manage donations in memory of loved ones. The service is provided to funeral directors, allowing us to dedicate a page in memory of a loved one. Memory Giving was established in 2010 to provide a secure method of donating and to encourage the use of Gift Aid (which rarely happens when donations are made by cheque).
If you wish for donations to be made online, we can create a page dedicated to the memory of the person, where we can place a photograph and message along with the funeral details. When making a donation, family and friends can leave a tribute. They are also encouraged to provide details so Gift Aid can be claimed.

You can click the button below. This will take you to the Memory Giving website, which will show you the collections we have open. If you do not see the person listed, you can discuss the possibility of starting a page with the family, and we would be happy to set this up once permission has been given.
Gift Aid allows charities to claim back the basic rate of tax on your donation — at no extra cost to you. Memory Giving handles this automatically when you give online.
Gift Aid is one of the simplest and most effective ways of giving to charity. It is a scheme introduced by HM Revenue & Customs which allows the charity to reclaim the basic rate of tax you pay as a UK taxpayer. Memory Giving will recover the Gift Aid automatically.
The Gift Aid scheme is for gifts made by UK taxpayers. A declaration is required from the donor to this effect when donating.
As part of the donation process you will be required to provide your name and address, and confirmation from you that you have paid enough tax and that your donation qualifies.
Gift Aid is worth at least an extra 25p for every £1 you give, at absolutely no extra cost to you. So a donation of £10 becomes £12.50.
